Two Suns Rising Yoga — owned and operated by Didier and Ann Razon — led Penny on a memorable and adventurous yoga teaching training journey largely infused with inspiring symbolism of yoga postures and “Journey to the Heart” contemplations. Because these elements strongly resonated with Penny, she enjoys incorporating pieces of them into yoga classes she teaches. “It’s a joy to encourage students to open their hearts to a loving and authentic yoga practice and a loving and authentic life off the yoga mat,” says Penny who also teaches private and group juicing/blending classes as a “fun food tool” for nourishing the body on a cellular level.Penny, who was drawn to yoga quite naturally, has also received the level 1 and 2 certificates from the Radiant Child Yoga Program. Because yoga has no age boundaries, she enjoys teaching a weekly class to seniors at The Allegro, an assisted living facility. Her oldest “student” (yet teacher) there was 100 years old. “To practice yoga with folks who average 90 years of age is nothing but an absolute blessing and pure joy” Penny exclaims. “I am deeply inspired by them every week, because they are key examples of what it means to ‘practice yoga without competition and judgement and to ground your practice in the present moment’,” says Penny who received her master’s degree in humanities with a focus in journalism and a graduate certificate in professional writing in 1995, just months before she began her journey of motherhood to her now teenage son.
